Community Mobilization Supervisor
Job Description
The proposed position of Community Mobilization Supervisor is critical to fulfilling the operational and to expedite the implementation of the newly awarded DFAT-IRC -supported WASH project, ensuring timely implementation, accountability, and achievement of the project’s intended outcomes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for supervising and coordinating Community-Based Volunteers (CBVs), skilled and semi-skilled volunteers, and community workers engaged in WASH service delivery activities within assigned camps.
Monitor implementation of field-level WASH activities and ensure assigned tasks are completed according to approved plans, schedules, and quality standards.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor volunteer performance, identify implementation challenges, and provide timely feedback and guidance to improve service delivery.
Ensure attendance, deployment, and performance monitoring of community-based volunteers and maintain related records and documentation.
Coordinate daily activities of volunteers involved in water distribution systems, hand pump tube well operation and maintenance, desludging activities, waste collection, transportation, segregation, and disposal services.
Assist in community awareness and mobilization activities related to safe water use, sanitation practices, hygiene promotion, environmental cleanliness, and protection of WASH facilities.
Support formation, engagement, and coordination of community groups, WASH Committees, and volunteers to strengthen community participation and ownership of WASH services.
Collect field-level data, maintain activity records, prepare routine monitoring reports, and submit updates to the Assistant Project Officer on a regular basis.
Facilitate communication between community members, volunteers, and project staff to ensure timely identification and resolution of WASH-related issues.
Support emergency response activities, including rapid assessments, emergency water supply, sanitation interventions, and community mobilization during emergencies or service disruptions.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, WASH Sector standards, health and safety procedures, and community engagement principles.
Experience
- At least 3 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Development Agency
Education
Additional Requirements
- Age At most 40 years
Fair knowledge on Rohingya Refugee context including WaSH intervention in emergency/humanitarian situation.
Hard working, able to work under pressure in humanitarian response context, with a positive and can-do attitude.
Work experience in Cox's Bazar is preferable.
Fluency in English and Bangla; knowledge of Rohingya/Chittagonian dialect is an asset.
