To manage and coordinate the end-to-end washing production planning process across all washing plants, ensuring optimum capacity utilization, on-time shipment, production efficiency, and effective coordination among Merchandising, Production, Washing, IE, Quality, Commercial, and Logistics. The role is responsible for developing feasible production plans, monitoring execution, resolving bottlenecks, and driving continuous improvement in planning accuracy and operational performance.
Responsibilities:
1. Central Production Planning: Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term washing production plans; develop factory-wise and machine-wise loading plans; balance production capacity across multiple washing plants; align washing schedules with garment sewing output and shipment plans; and ensure production plans support buyer priorities and delivery commitments.
2. Capacity Planning: Calculate and monitor production capacity across all washing plants by evaluating the utilization of washing machines, hydro extractors, dryers, ovens, laser machines, ozone machines, E-Flow machines, PP spray booths, and finishing & packing sections; recommend capacity optimization initiatives; and coordinate outsourcing requirements whenever internal capacity is insufficient.
3. Shipment Planning: Monitor shipment calendars and buyer delivery schedules; prioritize urgent and critical orders; ensure washing completion aligns with finishing, packing, and export timelines; and implement recovery plans for delayed shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
4. Order & WIP Management: Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) across all washing plants; track order status from garment receipt to shipment; identify production bottlenecks affecting production flow; ensure ageing orders receive immediate attention; and maintain optimum WIP levels.
5. Production Monitoring: Compare actual production against planned output; analyze daily production variances; monitor achievement of production targets; issue corrective action plans for missed targets; and conduct daily production review meetings.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate closely with Merchandising, Production, Washing Plant Operations, Industrial Engineering (IE), Quality Assurance (QA), Washing Laboratory, Commercial & Export, Logistics, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Stores to ensure seamless execution of production plans and timely order completion.
7. Material & Chemical Readiness: Ensure garment availability before wash loading; confirm the availability of chemicals, dyes, enzymes, auxiliaries, trims, and packing materials as per the production plan; and coordinate with Procurement and Stores to prevent material shortages.
8. Buyer Priority Management: Track VIP and priority buyer orders; coordinate with Merchandising to accommodate style changes and revised delivery dates; monitor development, pilot, and PP sample schedules; and ensure compliance with buyer-specific washing standards.
9. MIS & Reporting: Prepare and publish Daily Production Plan, Factory Capacity Report, Washing WIP Report, Shipment Status Report, Order Ageing Report, Machine Utilization Report, Production Variance Report, Weekly Planning Dashboard, Monthly KPI Report, and Executive Management MIS to support operational and strategic decision-making.
10. ERP & Planning System Management: Maintain accurate production data in the ERP system; update production plans in real time; ensure master planning data accuracy; generate automated planning reports and dashboards; and support ERP implementation and continuous system improvement.
