Job Description

The Head of Strategy will play a critical role in driving long-term business growth, enterprise performance, and strategic alignment across the organization.

Strategic Management System (SMS)

  • Design, implement, and institutionalize a comprehensive Strategic Management System (SMS) across all business units.

  • Establish governance mechanisms, strategic review cycles, planning calendars, performance dashboards, and execution frameworks.

  • Align strategic planning processes with budgeting, workforce planning, and business performance management systems.

Corporate Strategy & Planning

  • Lead annual and long-term (3–5 year) strategic planning processes.

  • Conduct market, industry, competitor, and organizational analyses to support strategic decision-making.

  • Develop corporate growth roadmaps and enterprise value creation initiatives.

  • Monitor strategic plan execution and recommend corrective actions where required.

Business Growth & Corporate Development

  • Partner with business leaders to identify growth opportunities, expansion initiatives, and market development strategies.

  • Lead feasibility studies, investment evaluations, and business case assessments.

  • Support mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and portfolio optimization initiatives.

Organizational Transformation

  • Lead enterprise transformation initiatives aligned with strategic priorities.

  • Drive change management programs supporting strategic execution.

  • Collaborate with Human Capital teams to ensure organizational capability and leadership readiness.

Executive & Board Support

  • Prepare strategic reports, board papers, and executive presentations.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CBDO, CEO, and Board.

  • Facilitate cross-functional strategic initiatives and governance reviews.

Experience

  • At least 14 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), IT Enabled Service, Shipping, Logistic/Courier/Air Express Companies, Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Electronic Equipment/Home Appliances, Group of Companies, Cement Industry, Steel

Education

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, Economics, Statistics
    • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
    • Bachelor of Science (BSc)
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, Balanced Scorecard Professional, OKR Practitioner, Strategy Execution, or Corporate Planning certifications will be considered an added advantage.

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 35 years

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Corporate Strategy, Business Planning, Corporate Development, Management Consulting, or Business Transformation.

  • At least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing enterprise strategy, corporate planning, or business transformation.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing Strategic Management Systems (SMS), Balanced Scorecard, OKR, Hoshin Kanri, or similar performance management frameworks.

  • Experience working within large conglomerates, multinational corporations, diversified business groups, or leading consulting firms.

  • Strong exposure to Consumer Products (FMCG), Building Materials, Electronics, Manufacturing, Commodities, Logistics, Healthcare, Agriculture, or related sectors.

  • Demonstrated track record of working directly with C-Suite leaders, Boards, and business unit heads.

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives resulting in measurable business growth and operational improvements.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong command of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and business case development capabilities.

  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and executive communication skills.

  • Proficiency in business intelligence and data visualization tools.

  • Highly tech-savvy with the ability to leverage digital platforms for strategy execution and performance monitoring.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-business environment with high complexity.
