Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager – Export Business & LC Processing
Job Description
Manage end-to-end export operations, ensuring timely and efficient execution of export orders.
Handle export transactions under Letters of Credit (LCs), including review, processing, amendments, negotiation, and realization.
Coordinate with banks and financial institutions regarding export documentation, compliance requirements, discrepancy resolution, and trade finance matters.
Ensure timely realization and repatriation of export proceeds in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare, verify, and submit export documents including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Delivery Challan, Bill of Lading (B/L), Airway Bill (AWB), Certificate of Origin, Inspection Certificates, and other related documents.
Maintain compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, banking guidelines, and company policies.
Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs authorities, and logistics service providers to ensure smooth shipment execution.
Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve logistics, customs, and transportation-related issues.
Identify and mitigate operational, commercial, financial, and compliance risks associated with export activities.
Monitor changes in export regulations, trade policies, and banking requirements and ensure organizational compliance.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, banks, regulatory bodies, and business partners.
Support export market expansion initiatives and strengthen existing customer relationships.
Maintain accurate export records and documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
Lead, guide, and support team members to achieve departmental goals and business objectives.
Experience
- 6 to 8 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), IT Enabled Service, Shipping, Food (Packaged)/Beverage, Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Group of Companies, Packaging Industry, Cement Industry, Steel
Education
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Finance
Professional certification in International Trade, Export Management, Supply Chain, or Trade Finance will be considered an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Age At least 28 years
• Strong expertise in export documentation, international logistics, customs procedures, and export compliance.
• Extensive hands-on experience in Letter of Credit (LC) operations, export financing, and banking documentation.
• Sound knowledge of international trade practices, Incoterms, UCP 600, foreign exchange regulations, and customs procedures.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing and developing teams.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and export-related documentation systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
