Job Description

VAT Administration & Compliance (Weightage: 35%)

  • Manage statutory registers: Oversee the daily upkeep of Mushak registers including Mushak 6.1 (Purchase), Mushak 6.2 (Sales), and Mushak 6.3 (Tax Invoice).
  • Monthly returns: Prepare, reconcile, and file monthly VAT returns (Mushak 9.1) within regulatory deadlines.
  • Exemption management: Process and claim VAT exemptions or rebates applicable to 100% export-oriented accessories manufacturers.
  • Treasury deposits: Ensure precise calculation and timely deposit of VAT central treasury amounts. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Corporate Income Tax & TDS/VDS Management (Weightage: 30%)

  • Tax withholding: Direct the accurate deduction and collection of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and VAT Deducted at Source (VDS) from supplier payments. [1, 2]
  • Challan management: Issue statutory TDS/VDS certificates to suppliers and deposit collected amounts via online e-Challan systems.
  • Corporate tax return: Prepare documentation, deferred tax calculations, and final schedules for the annual corporate income tax assessment. [1, 2]
  • Employee taxation: Supervise payroll tax calculations, investment allowances, and the filing of employee tax returns.

Audit, Dispute Resolution & Liaison (Weightage: 20%)

  • Audit management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for external audits conducted by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), VAT Audit, and Intelligence Directorate. [1]
  • Liaison: Build and maintain professional working relationships with Circle and Zone tax/VAT officials. [1]
  • Dispute resolution: Draft technical legal responses to show-cause notices and manage documentation for tax appeals or tribunal hearings.

Strategic Tax Planning & Price Declarations (Weightage: 15%)

  • Input-Output coefficient: Formulate and file accurate Input-Output Coefficients (Mushak 4.3) for all manufactured accessories (e.g., buttons, zippers, cartons, labels). [1]
  • Tax optimization: Analyze operational costs to recommend legitimate avenues for tax reduction and structure commercial transactions tax-efficiently.

Experience

  • 7 to 10 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Garments Accessories

Education

    • Bachelor of Business Studies (Pass) in Accounting, Finance
  • Professional Certification: CA (cc/part-qualified), CMA (part-qualified), or ITP (Income Tax Practitioner) registration is highly preferred. [1, 2]

Systems:

Advanced user of NBR online portals (e-VAT, e-Return) and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally).

Regulations:

Mastery of the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Act 2012 and the current Income Tax Act.

Costing:

Strong structural costing skills required to defend Mushak 4.3 input-output calculations against customs or NBR queries. [1]
