Technician – Plumbing

• Provide technical support for the installation, operation, maintenance, rehabilitation, and repair of piped water supply systems, distribution networks, plumbing fixtures, and related WASH infrastructure.

• Carry out installation, repair, and maintenance of GI, PVC, HDPE, UPVC, and pipelines, valves, fittings, taps, meters, storage tanks, and plumbing accessories of WASH facilities.

• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of WASH facilities to identify leakages, blockages, damaged components, and other operational issues.

• Troubleshoot plumbing problems and undertake corrective maintenance to minimize service interruptions.

• Support installation, maintenance, and repair of hand pumps, tube wells, production boreholes, water reservoirs, chlorination systems, Latrine, Bathing, FSTP and associated plumbing components.

• Assist Skill Development Trainer in preparing technical assessments, repair plans, material estimates, and Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for plumbing-related works.

• Supervise and provide hands-on technical guidance to plumbers, Community-Based Volunteers (CBVs), pump operators, and skilled or semi-skilled workers during construction, repair, and maintenance activities.

• Ensure all plumbing installations and repairing of masonry works comply with approved technical drawings, specifications, quality standards, and organizational guidelines.

• Monitor quality of materials used in plumbing and masonry works and report any deficiencies or non-compliance.

• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repair including masonry works, material consumption, equipment utilization, and completed assignments.

• Participate in emergency repairs and restoration of damaged water supply & Sanitation infrastructure during floods, cyclones, windstorms, disease outbreaks, or other emergency situations.

• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safe storage of plumbing and masonry tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Promote compliance with occupational health and safety procedures during all field activities.

• Monitor the performance of training participants of plumbing system and masonry activities at filed level.

• At least 3 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Development Agency

• Diploma in Civil Engineering/Plumbing Technical in Vocational Certificate or in any relevant discipline with practical experience.

• Age At most 40 years

• Strong technical knowledge in providing training on plumbing and masonry activities.
• Strong knowledge on TVET curriculum.
• Work experience in Cox's Bazar is preferable.
• Fluency in Bangla; knowledge of Rohingya/Chittagonian dialect is an asset.
