Category Merchandising Executive

Job Purpose:

The Category Merchandising Executive is responsible for ensuring a complete and competitive assortment that supports the achievement of company targets for sales, gross margin, and other income, in alignment with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

• Propose new product offers from suppliers to management, supported by complete information for decision-making.

• Adjust purchase and selling prices in accordance with management approval and company policy.

• Assist management in evaluating supplier performance and service levels, providing recommendations for improvement or changes as needed.

• Coordinate with the Operations department to manage the return and clearance of slow-moving, bad stock, and overstock items in compliance with company guidelines.

• Monitor and evaluate product sales performance against company standards, recommending alternative products where necessary.

• Oversee product distribution and ensure accurate placement in stores through coordination with operations.

• Plan and ensure the timely procurement of approved promotional and new products in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Select and recommend potential suppliers to management based on quality, pricing, payment terms, discounts, rebates, and product range.

• At least 2 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Retail Store, Chain shop, Super store

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or related field

• Age 24 to 35 years

• Fluency in both written and spoken English is a must.
• Strong analytical sense and strong negotiation skill.
• Understand Bangladesh consumer trends.
• Familiar with local promotion channels.
• Experience with modern distribution & retail systems in Bangladesh.
• Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Proficiency in office suite.
• Ability to multitask and manage timelines under tight project deadlines.
