Job Description
Job Context:
Benemoy Securities Ltd., a concern of JSK Group, is one of the growing organizations in Bangladesh’s capital market sector, committed to providing reliable, transparent, and professional financial services. We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and highly competent Accountant (CA-CC) to join our Finance & Accounts Department.
The ideal candidate must have successfully completed the Chartered Accountancy Course (CC) from ICAB and possess at least 5 years of practical experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, VAT, audit, and corporate finance. Candidates having experience in a brokerage house, merchant bank, financial institution, or listed company will receive preference.
The selected candidate will play a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, supporting management with financial analysis, and contributing to the organization’s strategic financial planning.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain day-to-day accounting operations in accordance with Bangladesh Accounting Standards (BAS), Bangladesh Financial Reporting Standards (BFRS), and company policies.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Prepare and maintain the General Ledger, Cash Book, Bank Book, Journal Register, and Subsidiary Ledgers.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations and monitor organizational cash flow.
Record, verify, and process all payment vouchers, journal vouchers, receipt vouchers, and adjustment entries.
Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, advances, deposits, and fixed assets.
Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
Analyze financial performance and submit recommendations to management for improving operational efficiency and cost optimization.
Ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT returns, Income Tax statements, withholding tax calculations, and other statutory reports.
Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities during audits and inspections.
Maintain proper documentation of financial records, contracts, invoices, and supporting documents.
Assist management in preparing business plans, financial projections, and investment-related reports.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ICAB standards, the Companies Act, Income Tax Ordinance, VAT Act, and other applicable laws.
Prepare various MIS reports, board reports, and financial presentations for senior management.
Support payroll accounting and monitor employee benefit-related accounting transactions.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information and organizational data.
Ensure proper internal control systems are implemented and continuously improved.
Candidates with knowledge of BSEC, DSE, CSE regulations and brokerage accounting procedures will be given preference.
Perform any other finance, accounts, or compliance-related responsibilities assigned by the management.
Experience
- At least 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Share Brokerage/ Securities House
Education
BBA or MBA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
CA Course Completed (CC) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) is mandatory.
Additional professional qualifications such as ACCA (Part Qualified), CMA, or equivalent will be considered an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Age At least 25 years
Thorough understanding of Bangladesh Accounting Standards (BAS), Bangladesh Financial Reporting Standards (BFRS), Companies Act, Income Tax, and VAT regulations.
Knowledge of brokerage accounting, capital market operations, and compliance with BSEC, DSE, and CSE regulations will be considered a significant advantage.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and accounting/ERP software (such as Tally, Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).
Ability to prepare financial models, budgets, and management reports independently.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively under pressure.
High level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Positive attitude, leadership capability, and willingness to work beyond regular office hours when necessary.
