Job Description

Job Context :
BRAC Microfinance is seeking a motivated Officer - Women Empowerment to coordinate and implement the "Promoting Entrepreneurship & Adaptive Resilience Livelihoods (PEARL)" project. This role focuses on empowering women in coastal fishing communities through livelihood and entrepreneurship training, asset distribution, and building market linkages. The officer will spend most of their time in the field engaging directly with beneficiaries.


Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct door-to-door surveys, Participatory Rural Appraisals (PRA), and Community Consultation Meetings (CCM) to identify eligible women beneficiaries.

  • Arrange and facilitate technical livelihood and entrepreneurship development trainings including business management, financial literacy, and climate adaptation.

  • Coordinate procurement and distribution of trade-specific startup assets.

  • Organize buyer-seller matchmaking workshops linking Women Producer Groups (WPGs) with buyers.

  • Collect, compile and submit field-level data, case studies, and progress reports to the line Manager on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Maintain proper documentation, including training records, distribution logs, meeting minutes, event reports, and photographic evidence.

  • Develop partnerships with local government, fisheries, agriculture departments, financial institutions, and private sector stakeholders.

  • Ensure safeguarding and safety of team members and beneficiaries during project activities.

Safeguarding Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

    • Bachelor/Honors

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 20 years
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1 year of relevant experience will be given preference.
