Job Description

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

This position will be responsible for the implementation of the ECE component targeting children aged 3-5 and parenting education. S/he will ensure the delivery and achievement of program outputs particularly the establishment of Integrated-ECE centers. Support for the identification and mobilization of teachers/facilitators in displaced, support for facilitators training, capacity building of facilitators, activities for targeted children including psychosocial support and referral, delivery of learning and teaching material. S/he will communicate frequently with the Technical Specialist for technical issues, expenditure, reporting, and donor compliance. S/he will also frequently communicate with the Technical Specialist for technical issues. S/he will take a proactive stance in identifying and mitigating child protection-related risks in the implementation of the project interventions and will represent BRAC at the Camp level.

  • Facilitate in identifying learners including children with disability following selection criteria

  • Support education needs assessment as needed in intervention target areas;

  • Encourage father and mother engagement along with community participation in the ECE through regular visits, meeting, feedback sessions and collaborative planning

  • Support to identify potential and qualified Facilitators for ECE intervention also support to design formative assessment tools for and support assessment.

  • Assist Play Leaders, Father & Mother Volunteers in organizing sessions through play-based activities.

  • Facilitate and support to establishment of Community Based Learning Facilities (CBLF)/ECE centre for 3-4 years learners in collaboration with Majhi, community, and site management.

  • Facilitate in identifying learners including children with disability following selection criteria.

  • Prepare monthly activity plan based on DIP/quarterly plan and ensure effective implementation of planned activity in collaboration with community and stakeholders.

  • Monitor children’s attendance, active participation and wellbeing on a daily basis.

  • Facilitate and ensure distribution of teaching-learning and other require material for ECE center and use.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so

Experience

  • At least 1 year
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Development Agency

Education

Graduation/ Post Graduation from any UGC approved recognized institution.

Additional Requirements

  • Age 20 to 50 years
  • Strong mobilization and motivational capacity, with the ability to engage and inspire communities and stakeholders effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with proven ability to negotiate, network, and influence.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

  • Proficient in basic computer applications and office equipment, with fluency in English (written and spoken).

  • Resilient and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and manage setbacks.

  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles including Do No Harm and education in emergencies, with contextual knowledge of the Rohingya response and Cox’s Bazar culture (local language skills and field travel readiness are added advantages).
