Assistant Merchandiser / Merchandiser ( Woven / Outwear)
Job Description
Experience Requirements
3-8 years of experience in Garments Merchandising.
Minimum 4 years of experience in Woven / Outwear merchandising.
Experience working with Buying Houses, Trading Companies, Retailers, or Export-Oriented Garment Industries.
Proven experience in handling international buyers and factories handling.
Responsibilities & Context
Buyer Communication & Order Management
Handle direct communication with buyers regarding inquiries, quotations, orders, and shipment schedules.
Manage the complete order execution process from development stage to final shipment.
Follow up with buyers for approvals, comments, and order confirmations.
Ensure customer requirements are properly communicated to factories and internal teams.
Costing & Price Negotiation
Prepare accurate garment costing and price quotations.
Coordinate with suppliers and factories to obtain competitive pricing.
Analyze cost components and ensure target margins are achieved.
Support management during price negotiations with buyers.
Product Development & Sampling
Coordinate sample development activities with factories and buyers.
Review tech packs, specifications, measurements, and garment construction details.
Ensure timely submission of development, fit, pre-production, and shipment samples.
Monitor buyer comments and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Production Follow-Up
Monitor production status and critical path activities.
Coordinate with factories to ensure on-time production and shipment.
Follow up on fabric, trims, accessories, and raw material readiness.
Identify production risks and take proactive actions to avoid delays.
Sourcing & Vendor Coordination
Develop and maintain relationships with factories, suppliers, and vendors.
Source fabrics, trims, and accessories based on buyer requirements.
Coordinate with production units to ensure quality and delivery compliance.
Evaluate supplier performance and sourcing opportunities.
Quality & Compliance Monitoring
Coordinate with quality teams to ensure products meet buyer standards.
Ensure all production activities comply with buyer requirements and compliance standards.
Monitor inspection schedules and quality approvals.
Shipment & Commercial Coordination
Coordinate with commercial and logistics teams for shipment planning.
Ensure shipping documents are prepared accurately and on time.
Follow up on shipment schedules and delivery commitments.
Support smooth execution of export procedures.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain order status reports, merchandising records, and buyer communication logs.
Prepare weekly and monthly merchandising reports.
Update management regarding order progress, challenges, and delivery status.
Maintain proper documentation for all merchandising activities.

Experience
- 5 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Buying House
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Design, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Diploma in Textile Engineering with strong merchandising experience may also be considered.
Professional training in Garments Merchandising, Supply Chain, or Apparel Manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Strong knowledge of garments manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Proactive, organized, and target-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
