Senior Merchandiser

Job Context: A reputed buying house is expanding its team and seeking a skilled Senior Merchandiser to enhance its operations. This role demands expertise in relevant skills, ensuring seamless coordination between suppliers, production, and quality assurance while maintaining compliance with international standards. We are looking for dynamic professionals with strong analytical and communication skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Development & Sourcing: Lead knitwear collection development, source high-quality materials, and work with suppliers on new fabrications and finishing techniques.

2. Supplier & Factory Management: Identify and evaluate knitwear manufacturers, negotiate prices/lead times, and ensure ethical and environmental compliance.

3. Costing & Pricing Strategy: Work to optimize fabric consumption and reduce costs while assisting buyers in price negotiations.

4. Sample Development & Approvals: Oversee the sample process from proto to PP samples, including fit/construction checks and lab testing.

5. Order Execution & Production Management: Track orders to shipment, resolve production issues, and conduct PP meetings.

6. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure quality standards through inspections and work with third-party agencies for regulatory compliance.

7. Market & Trend Analysis: Research market trends and consumer preferences to develop commercially viable products.

8. Logistics & Shipment Coordination: Ensure on-time delivery, maintain records, and troubleshoot supply chain disruptions.

9. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate order/costing records and provide management with performance reports and strategy insights.

• Bachelor of Science (BSc)
• Diploma in Textile Engineering
• North South University,BRAC University,BGMEA University of Fashion Technology,Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology,University of Dhaka students will get preference

Candidates from SUST & RU will also be given preference

• Age 30 to 35 years

• 5+ years of experience in merchandising, preferably in the knitwear category.

• Strong knowledge of fabric construction, knitting techniques, and garment manufacturing.

• Experience working with international buyers and large-scale production units.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, PLM systems, and ERP software.
