Job Description
The role focuses entirely on overseeing the core thermodynamic heart of the building's central utility plant room. The operator takes charge of startup protocols, running configurations, chemical adjustments, and continuous log keeping to preserve maximum plant efficiency coefficients (COP).
Manage step-by-step startup and shutdown configurations of central chillers following strict manufacturer operational guidelines.
Start-up and shut-down chiller systems according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Operate and monitor centrifugal, screw, or scroll chillers as per manufacturer specifications.
Assist engineering team in preventive maintenance (PM) of Chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and associated equipment.
Communicate system status clearly to shift engineers and supervisors.
Coordinate with HVAC technicians, electricians, and maintenance staff for troubleshooting.
Run detailed parameter tests across chiller loops, observing refrigerant pressure, temperature changes, and flow rate indicators.
Clean condenser tubes, flush cooling tower basins, adjust fan blades, and inspect cooling spray nozzle uniformity.
Log precise runtime parameters, hourly pressure variations, electrical draw levels, and fuel/energy metrics in the plant room master log.
Participate in flushing, pressure testing and system balancing activities.
Act instantly on automated plant panel safety alarms or trip signals, stepping in with quick troubleshooting to prevent equipment lockouts.
Experience
- 5 to 10 years

Education
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC), or specialized Trade Course from a reputed technical training center.
Additional Requirements
- Age 25 to 55 years

Exhaustive knowledge concerning the mechanisms of heavy industrial Centrifugal, Screw, or Scroll Chillers.
Complete familiarity with the synchronization rules for Chilled Water Pumps, Condenser Pumps, and Cooling Towers.
Practical training in water treatment analytics, chemical dosing, corrosion control tracking, and TDS level verification across open loops.
Demonstrated history managing system line flushing, hydro-testing, and initial plant trial runs during property pre-opening/commissioning milestones.
Sharp diagnostic instincts regarding operational indicators, identifying subtle surge patterns, motor winding stress points, or oil pump issues.
Capability to interpret technical layouts, circuit maps, and automated control interface panel alerts.
