BRAC Microfinance provides financial services to underserved communities at scale. The Research & Insight (R&I) unit drives evidence-based decisions through rigorous field research, large-scale censuses, and impact evaluations. We are now building a dedicated roster of field researchers to power this work.
The Opportunity: BRAC Microfinance Research & Insight (R&I) is building a national Field Research Fellowship Roster — a pre-trained, deployable pool of researchers engaged on a project basis. All candidates enter through a single application. Based on qualifications, experience, interest, and performance, fellows will be deployed as either Research Fellow – Field operation or Research Fellow – Supervision Field Supervisors as project needs require. Deployment roles may vary across assignments.

Job Description:
Research Fellow – Field Operation:
Conduct household surveys, structured interviews, and field data collection using digital data collection tools.
Adhere to research protocols and guidelines, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and ethical compliance.
Engage professionally and respectfully with community members and provide regular progress updates to the Research & Insight team.
Research Fellow – Field Supervision:
Lead and manage enumerator teams in the field to ensure smooth implementation of data collection activities.
Coordinate field logistics, monitor data collection activities.
Ensure data quality standards are maintained throughout the fieldwork.
Safeguarding responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must own a smartphone
Prior field or research experience is a plus (increases likelihood of supervisory deployment)
Leadership and problem-solving skills valued
Educational Requirements: Honours students (3rd year or above) or recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a Bachelor`s or Master`s degree will be given preference for supervisory deployment.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Freshers: BDT 1,500 per day
Experienced Candidates: BDT 2,000 per day
Paid Assignments: Competitive daily allowance per deployment
Residential Training: 1-week training on tools, methods & safety
Real Field Exposure: Large-scale censuses across rural Bangladesh
Growth Path: Start as enumerator, grow into supervisory roles
Flexibility: Project-based - balance studies or other work
Remuneration:
(The remuneration package includes food, accommodation, transportation, and field-related expenses. In addition, a fixed amount of BDT 1,000 will be provided to cover deployment and return travel costs.)
