Assistant General Manager - Commercial

• Lead and manage the Company`s overall export and import operations, ensuring timely execution of all commercial activities.

• Oversee export documentation, customs clearance, shipping, freight forwarding, and banking documentation in compliance with international trade regulations.

• Manage import operations for raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, spare parts, and other business-critical items.

• Coordinate with banks for Letters of Credit (L/C), trade finance, export proceeds realization, and import payment settlements.

• Ensure compliance with customs, bonded warehouse regulations, VAT, taxation, foreign exchange regulations, and other statutory requirements.

• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, C&F agents, customs authorities, banks, buyers, suppliers, and government agencies.

• Monitor shipment schedules and resolve issues related to documentation discrepancies, customs delays, port congestion, demurrage, and detention.

• Develop and implement commercial policies, SOPs, and internal controls to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

• Negotiate freight rates, logistics costs, and commercial service agreements to achieve cost efficiency.

• Coordinate closely with Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality Control, Sales & Marketing, and Factory Operations to ensure smooth business operations.

• Prepare and present periodic reports on export/import status, L/Cs, logistics costs, compliance, and commercial performance.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial team while ensuring high standards of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.

• 12 to 15 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)

• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
• Masters

• Professional certification or training in International Trade, Export-Import Management, Customs, Shipping, or Trade Finance will be an added advantage.

• Age 35 to 55 years
• Only Male

Experience in a 100% export-oriented food processing, agro-processing, FMCG, manufacturing, or related industry will be highly preferred.
