AC Technician - VRF

Job Description
- Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair VRF/VRV air-conditioning systems, including indoor and outdoor units.
- Identify and resolve faults relating to compressors, inverter boards, control panels, sensors, fan motors, expansion valves, refrigerant lines, and communication systems.
- Read error codes and use appropriate diagnostic tools to identify electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related problems.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to the approved maintenance schedule.
- Check refrigerant pressure, temperature, electrical current, voltage, insulation, leakage, and overall system performance.
- Perform refrigerant charging, vacuuming, pressure testing, leak detection, copper pipe brazing, and related technical work safely.
- Clean filters, coils, drain lines, indoor units, outdoor units, and other components as required.
- Monitor the operation of VRF systems in critical hospital areas and immediately respond to breakdowns or abnormal conditions.
- Maintain service records, equipment logs, maintenance checklists, spare-parts records, and daily work reports.
- Coordinate with engineers, hospital departments, contractors, suppliers, and authorized service providers when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety, fire safety, infection-control requirements, and hospital maintenance procedures.
- Assist in the installation, testing, commissioning, relocation, and modification of VRF and other air-conditioning systems.
- Properly use and safeguard tools, testing instruments, equipment, and spare parts assigned by the hospital.
- Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Head of Engineering and Maintenance or hospital management.
Experience
- 3 to 7 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital, Diagnostic Centre
Education
- Diploma in Refrigeration and air Conditioning
- Trade Course/Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from a recognized Technical Training Centre or institute.
- Candidates with SSC or equivalent qualifications and extensive practical experience in VRF systems may also be considered.
Additional Requirements
- Age 20 to 35 years
- Only Male
- Experience in hospitals, diagnostic centres, hotels, commercial buildings, or other large facilities will be preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of VRF/VRV systems and their electrical and electronic controls.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control diagrams, refrigerant piping layouts, and equipment manuals.
- Practical experience with multimeters, clamp meters, manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, and other HVAC tools.
- Knowledge of split, cassette, ducted, package, and inverter air-conditioning systems will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly during equipment breakdowns.
- Willingness to work in shifts, on weekly holidays, or outside regular working hours during emergencies.
- Physically fit and capable of working in plant rooms, rooftops, ceiling spaces, and other maintenance areas.
- Responsible, disciplined, honest, punctual, and capable of maintaining professional conduct within a hospital environment.
- Basic communication and maintenance-reporting skills.
