Job Summary
The Denting Mechanic is responsible for repairing and restoring vehicle body damage caused by accidents, collisions, or operational wear and tear. The role involves assessing damaged vehicle panels, performing dent repairs, straightening body parts, and preparing vehicles for painting to ensure fleet vehicles remain safe, presentable, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess vehicle body damage and determine the required repair work.
- Repair dents, damaged panels, doors, bumpers, fenders, roofs, and other vehicle body parts.
- Straighten, reshape, and align damaged metal body components using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Remove and replace damaged body panels when necessary.
- Prepare repaired surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, and finishing bodywork.
- Perform welding and metal fabrication work as required for body repairs.
- Ensure repaired areas match the original vehicle structure and appearance.
- Coordinate with painters and other mechanics to complete repair work efficiently.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Support emergency repair requirements when fleet vehicles sustain accidental damage.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Automobile, Motor Vehicle body manufacturer, Motor Workshop
Education
- Higher Secondary
- Diploma
- Minimum educational qualification: HSC passed.
- Diploma or Vocational training or certification in automotive body repair will be considered an advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Age 20 to 35 years
- Only Male
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual repair work.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple repair tasks.
- Willingness to work extended hours when operational requirements demand.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Denting Mechanic, Body Repair Technician, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience working in vehicle garages, workshops, service centers, or fleet maintenance facilities.
- Experience repairing Microbuses, Hiace, Noah KR42, TownAce, and similar commercial vehicles will be highly preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair and dent removal techniques.
- Ability to use denting, welding, cutting, grinding, and shaping tools effectively.
- Good understanding of vehicle body structures and panel alignment.
- Ability to assess damage and recommend appropriate repair methods.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and meet repair deadlines.
