Job Description

Position Purpose

To lead and manage the finishing operations of Board Paper and Duplex Board production at Jamuna Paper Mills Ltd., ensuring that finished products consistently meet customer specifications, quality standards and production targets. The role is responsible for optimizing finishing processes including sheeting, rewinding, cutting, packing and dispatch readiness while maximizing productivity, minimizing waste and ensuring safe and cost-effective operations through continuous process improvement and effective team leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the overall finishing operations for Board Paper and Duplex Board production, ensuring smooth workflow and maximum machine utilization.

• Plan, organize and supervise finishing activities including rewinding, slitting, sheeting, trimming, embossing (where applicable), counting, wrapping, palletizing, and packing.

• Ensure finished paper complies with customer specifications regarding GSM, dimensions, moisture, smoothness, reel quality, sheet quality and packaging standards.

• Coordinate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Planning, Warehouse and Sales teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.

• Monitor finishing machine performance and implement initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity and operational efficiency.

• Reduce production losses, edge trim waste, customer complaints and rework through effective process control and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure proper identification, labeling, storage and traceability of finished products before dispatch.

• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and best practices for finishing operations.

• Monitor production KPIs including productivity, finishing yield, wastage, machine downtime, rejection rate, customer complaints and manpower efficiency.

• Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for preventive maintenance, breakdown analysis and timely machine repairs to minimize downtime.

• Lead root cause analysis for finishing defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.

•Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and finishing reports for management review.

Experience

  • At least 15 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Group of Companies, Paper

Education

    • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Eng & Production, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Technical/Engineering

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 40 years
  • Only Male

• Strong practical experience in Board Paper, Duplex Board Paper, Kraft Board or Packaging Paper manufacturing and finishing technologies.

• Proven experience in improving productivity, reducing waste, quality enhancement, and process optimization within a paper manufacturing environment.

• Sound understanding of paper quality parameters including GSM, thickness, moisture, stiffness, burst strength, smoothness and dimensional accuracy.
