Nurse Manager / Junior Nurse Manager under Nursing Services

Job Context:

In the context of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital, a Nurse Supervisor oversees and manages the nursing staff and operations, ensuring patient care quality, compliance with regulations, and providing support and guidance to the nursing team, while also handling administrative tasks.

Job Responsibilities: -

• Supervise and manage the nursing staff, including scheduling, assignments, and performance evaluations.

• Assist the total needs of patients in the unit and prepare planned nursing care

• Demonstrate and supervise the nursing care of patients in the unit

• Attend regular round in the unit with the medical and nursing personnel.

• Reviewing reports from In-charge regarding the nursing care of patients in each shift.

• Aids DCNO in coordinating staff leave on the units.

• Aids the Head Nurse / Incharge in all written procedures, assisting define the Staffs when required.

• Plan and arrange duty for nurses & ensure availability of adequate nursing staff in all shifts.

• Advises and counsels nursing staff when required, initiating disciplinary procedures with DCNO.

• Communicate with staff and department In-Charge.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of care plans and nursing interventions.

• Ensure that all patients receive appropriate, timely, and effective nursing care.

• Guide the In-charges to ensure supplies and equipment of different stores and re-checking their use and care.

• Periodical check of all stocks and supplies.

• Checks night reports and census sheets from wards, cabin & other dept. for ensuring accuracy.

• Monitor patient outcomes and implement strategies to improve care quality and safety.

• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure continuous improvement in patient care and safety standards.

• Daily Check of emergency and dangerous drugs, life saving equipments i.e; monitors, ventilators, defibrillators, suction machines and O2 Points etc. to ensure their proper functioning

• Interact with the engineering services department for proper up keep of the unit.

• Act as a liaison between nursing staff and hospital administration to address issues, concerns, and improvements.

• Informed of the needs of the patient care areas and bring it to their notice any special problems.

• Attends evening/night duty meetings, and occasional day duty meetings, participating in activities as required with an automatic right to place items on agenda.

• Participates in quality assurance programs.

• Initiates and participates in teaching / training sessions.

• Maintain good inter-personnel relationship with all categories of staff, patients and their relatives.

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to infection control and patient safety.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to best practices in BSH

• Bachelor/Honors

• Diploma

• Bachelor of Science (BSc), Diploma in Nursing

• B.Sc. or Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery

• Age At most 40 years

• Age At most 40 years

• RNRM (Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife) with 6 yrs experience (minimum 2 years’ experience as a Nurse manager or equivalent post / Nurse In-charge will get preference)

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Strong attention to detailA

• Extensive clinical skills for specific unit

• Ability to lead and motivate others

• Candidate should be proficient in using Microsoft Office.
