Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Commercial (Food & Beverage Experience Mandatory)
Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and result-oriented professional for the position of Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Commercial to act as the Second-in-Command (2IC) of the Commercial Department.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on Commercial experience in the Food & Beverage manufacturing industry, with proven expertise in importing production-related raw materials, ingredients, flavors, concentrates, packaging materials, machinery, engineering spare parts, food-grade resins, industrial chemicals, and other manufacturing inputs required for products such as Juices, Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks, Sauces, Noodles, Snacks, and other FMCG Food & Beverage products.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head of Commercial in managing day-to-day commercial operations.
- Handle end-to-end import processes, including PI, LC, TT, shipping documents, customs clearance, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage imports of food ingredients, flavors, concentrates, additives, packaging materials, machinery, engineering spare parts, food-grade resins, industrial chemicals, and other production materials.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers, manufacturers, freight forwarders, banks, shipping lines, and C&F agents to ensure timely import and delivery.
- Develop and manage international supplier relationships while negotiating pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor shipment status, resolve import-related issues, and ensure uninterrupted material availability for production.
- Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, QA, Procurement, Finance, and Planning departments for smooth commercial operations.
- Prepare commercial reports, import cost analysis, and shipment status reports while ensuring compliance with import regulations and company policies.
Experience
- 4 to 8 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Retail Store, Restaurant, Food (Packaged)/Beverage, Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Real Estate, Bakery (Cake, Biscuit, Bread)
Education
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Supply Chain Management
- Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)
- Professional Certification/Training: Diploma or professional certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, International Trade, Import & Export Management, Commercial Management, or Logistics will be considered an added advantage.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, International Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional training in Commercial, Import-Export, or International Trade will be an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Age 28 to 45 years
- Minimum 4–8 years of direct Commercial experience in a Food & Beverage manufacturing company.
- Practical experience in importing production materials for Juices, Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks, Sauces, Noodles, Snacks, or similar Food & Beverage products.
- Hands-on experience in importing ingredients, flavors, concentrates, additives, packaging materials, machinery, engineering spare parts, food-grade resins, and industrial chemicals.
- Proven experience working directly with international suppliers, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, and relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of LC, PI, shipping documentation, customs procedures, Incoterms, and import compliance.
- Strong supplier sourcing and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and commercial decision-making ability.
- Sound knowledge of international trade, import regulations, and commercial documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
