Lab Technologist

Job Summary

The Lab Technologist at Ad-Din Medical Center – Ukhiya is responsible for performing laboratory investigations accurately and efficiently to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention. The incumbent will ensure high standards of laboratory practice by maintaining quality assurance protocols, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, handling patient specimens safely, and adhering to infection prevention and biosafety guidelines. The role requires strong technical competence, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering timely, reliable, and high-quality diagnostic services while upholding professional ethics and patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Immunology, and Clinical Pathology according to established laboratory protocols.

• Collect, receive, label, process, and preserve patient specimens accurately while ensuring proper identification and handling procedures.

• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Analyze laboratory test results, verify their accuracy, and report findings promptly to the concerned physicians.

• Implement and maintain internal and external quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of laboratory results.

• Maintain accurate laboratory records, registers, and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, biosafety, waste management, and occupational health and safety guidelines.

• Monitor laboratory inventory and coordinate the procurement of reagents, consumables, and other laboratory supplies to ensure uninterrupted services.

• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate quality patient care and timely clinical decision-making.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and laboratory records in accordance with ethical and legal requirements.

• Participate in laboratory quality improvement initiatives, audits, accreditation activities, and continuing professional development programs.

• Stay updated with advancements in laboratory technology, diagnostic procedures, and best practices to enhance service quality.

• Perform any other laboratory-related duties assigned by the Laboratory In-charge or Hospital Management.

• 2 to 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital, Diagnostic Centre, Clinic

• Diploma in Medical Technology

• Age 25 to 35 years

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and in shift duties.

• Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and biosafety protocols.

• Proficient in maintaining laboratory documentation and records.

• Honest, responsible, and committed to patient care.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Familiarity with NABL/ISO 15189 or equivalent laboratory quality standards will be considered an advantage.
