Head of Department (Fastener Manufacturing Unit)

Operations & Production

• Lead the Fastener Department`s overall operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production of fasteners and wire nails.

• Oversee the entire manufacturing process, encompassing Cold Heading (Fastener & Nail Forming), Tail Drilling, Thread Rolling, Heat Treatment (Temper Furnace), Washer Assembly, and related finishing operations.

• Develop production schedules in coordination with the Planning, Procurement, Stores, and Sales departments to ensure timely order fulfillment.

• Plan, supervise, and control daily production activities to achieve targets while upholding quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

• Ensure accurate machine setup, operation, and optimization to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

• Prepare, review, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and machine performance records.

• Support new product development, process validation, and the implementation of new machinery or production technologies.

• Manage departmental resources effectively, including machinery, tools, production materials, and manpower.

Quality & Maintenance

• Maintain and continuously improve product quality to ensure it meets customer specifications.

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with the Maintenance team to ensure maximum machine reliability and availability.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, manufacturing cost reduction, process optimization, and productivity enhancement.

• Monitor machine utilization, material consumption, labor productivity, and production efficiency, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

• Ensure full compliance with company policies, quality management systems, and statutory requirements.

• Enforce workplace safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance throughout the department.

Team Leadership & General Duties

• Supervise, train, and evaluate engineers, supervisors, technicians, and machine operators to improve technical competency and operational performance.

• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.

• 5 to 10 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Steel, Industrial Machineries (Generator, Diesel Engine etc.), Metal & Aluminium Manufacturing, Building & Construction Materials

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
• Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
• Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering

• Educational qualifications may be relaxed for exceptionally experienced candidates with proven expertise in fastener manufacturing and production operations.

• Age 30 to 45 years
• Only Male

• Strong communication skills in Bangla and basic English.

• Leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Team management and decision-making ability.

• Knowledge of fastener manufacturing processes.

• Proficient in MS Office.

• Self-motivated and result-oriented.
