Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspection, testing and certification activities for passenger lifts, goods lifts, service lifts and industrial elevators.

  • Inspect cranes, hoists, gantry cranes, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, chain blocks, lifting beams, slings, hooks, shackles and other lifting accessories.

  • Perform visual inspection, functional testing, load testing and safety-device verification.

  • Inspect and test pressure vessels, air receivers, boilers, storage tanks and associated safety fittings.

  • Check the structural and mechanical condition of equipment, including wire ropes, brakes, hooks, chains, drums, sheaves, rails and supporting structures.

  • Verify lift safety components such as brakes, governors, limit switches, interlocks, emergency alarms, doors and overload protection systems.

  • Inspect pressure gauges, safety valves, relief devices, manholes, shells, nozzles, weld joints and supporting arrangements.

  • Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, load and operational tests where applicable.

  • Review equipment drawings, design specifications, manufacturer documents, maintenance records and previous inspection reports.

  • Verify safe working load, rated capacity, identification marks and equipment nameplate information.

  • Identify defects, unsafe conditions, deterioration, corrosion, deformation, leakage and non-conformities.

  • Record accurate measurements, test results, photographs and field observations.

  • Prepare professional inspection reports with findings, recommendations, corrective actions and fitness-for-use status.

  • Ensure all testing instruments and load-measuring devices are calibrated and suitable for use.

  • Coordinate with clients, operators, maintenance personnel and factory representatives during inspection activities.

  • Follow occupational health, safety and environmental requirements during site work.

  • Maintain impartiality, confidentiality and professional conduct in accordance with inspection-body requirements.

  • Complete assigned inspections and submit reports within the required timeline.

  • Travel to factories, construction sites and industrial facilities as required.

Experience

  • 2 to 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Escalator/Elevator/Lift

Education

    • Diploma in Mechanical in Mechanical Engineering
    • Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Crane & Lifting Equipment Inspection Training
  • NDT Level I/II (ASNT or equivalent)

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 18 years
  • Only Male

Preferred Skill:

  • Experience in lift, crane, lifting equipment or pressure vessel inspection.
  • Practical knowledge of load testing and safety-device verification.
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of applicable national and international standards.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, inspection or third-party certification.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications and equipment manuals.
