Job Description

Job Summary

The Trade Coordinator is responsible for coordinating import and export activities, maintaining trade-related documentation, communicating with suppliers, banks, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and government agencies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and Bangladesh trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Trade & Commercial Operations

  • Coordinate import and export activities from order placement to final delivery.

  • Prepare and maintain all trade-related documents, including L/C, PI, CI, PL, BL, Insurance, and customs documents.

  • Follow up on shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods.

  • Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing & forwarding (C&F) agents.

  • Monitor shipment status and provide regular updates to management.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all import and export documents comply with Bangladesh regulations and company requirements.

  • Coordinate with banks regarding Letter of Credit (L/C), TT payments, and other trade finance activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of trade transactions and documentation.

  • Assist in obtaining permits, certificates, and approvals from relevant government authorities.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Liaise with internal departments including Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, Production, and Accounts.

  • Prepare trade reports, shipment reports, and cost analyses.

  • Monitor trade-related expenses and support cost-control initiatives.

  • Resolve shipment and documentation issues in a timely manner.

Government & Regulatory Affairs

  • Coordinate with customs authorities, ports, and government agencies regarding import/export procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, VAT, tax requirements, and trade policies.

  • Assist in handling audits and inspections related to trade activities.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong relationships with business partners and service providers.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in Commercial, Import-Export, Trade Coordination, or Supply Chain Management.

  • Experience in handling L/C documentation and customs procedures will be preferred.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of import-export procedures and international trade documentation.

  • Understanding of Bangladesh customs, VAT, and trade regulations.

  • Good communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Good command of English and Bengali.
