Job Description

1. Green Finance and Sustainable Finance Strategy
  • Develop, implement, and manage the company's Green Finance and Sustainable Finance strategy in line with business objectives.

  • Identify eligible green projects, sustainable investment opportunities, climate finance options, and ESG-linked financing initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain internal green finance frameworks, procedures, and documentation standards.

  • Coordinate green loan, green bond, sustainability-linked loan, ESG-linked finance, and climate finance initiatives.

2. Fund Mobilization and Financing Arrangement
  • Arrange funding through banks, NBFIs, DFIs, MDBs, IFC, ADB, World Bank, donors, and development finance partners.

  • Explore and secure Bangladesh Bank green finance and refinance schemes, concessional facilities, and other sustainable funding sources.

  • Prepare financing proposals, information memorandums, lender presentations, financial analysis, and supporting documents.

  • Negotiate financing terms, pricing, covenants, security, utilization conditions, and loan documentation.

3. Treasury, Liquidity, and Working Capital Support
  • Support treasury operations, cash flow planning, fund utilization, liquidity management, and working capital financing.

  • Assist in term loan, refinancing, LC/BG, structured finance, and project finance arrangements.

  • Monitor financing costs and recommend options to improve funding efficiency through green and sustainable finance instruments.

4. Bank, DFI, and Stakeholder Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFIs, DFIs, MDBs, regulators, auditors, consultants, and development partners.

  • Coordinate with sustainable finance, ESG, project finance, credit, and relationship teams of financial institutions.

  • Represent the company in lender meetings, due diligence sessions, documentation reviews, and financing discussions.

5. ESG, Regulatory, and Compliance Management
  • Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Bank sustainable finance guidelines, green banking requirements, loan covenants, ESG standards, and corporate governance obligations.

  • Support compliance with relevant sustainable finance frameworks such as green taxonomy requirements, IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and lender-specific E&S requirements where applicable.

  • Coordinate sustainability assessments, environmental and social due diligence, lender audits, and regulatory reporting.

6. Project Evaluation and Risk Assessment
  • Assess project eligibility under green finance and sustainable finance criteria.

  • Conduct financial, environmental, and social risk assessments for green and sustainable projects.

  • Evaluate carbon reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy, resource conservation, waste management, and environmental impact benefits.

  • Coordinate with Projects, Operations, ESG & Sustainability, Legal, Finance, and Business Units for project-level data and validation.

7. Reporting, Monitoring, and Documentation
  • Prepare management reports, financing dashboards, lender reports, regulatory submissions, and green finance progress reports.

  • Track KPIs related to sustainable finance, fund utilization, compliance, environmental impact, and financing cost benefits.

  • Monitor utilization and reporting obligations of green and sustainable financing facilities.

  • Support annual ESG, sustainability, and sustainable finance disclosures.

8. Market Intelligence and Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor Bangladesh Bank circulars, sustainable finance market trends, climate finance developments, and international ESG standards.

  • Recommend improvements in sustainable financing practices, lender engagement strategy, internal policies, and project screening processes.

  • Build internal awareness on green finance, ESG-linked funding, and sustainability-related financing opportunities.

Experience

  • 8 to 15 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), IT Enabled Service, Shipping, Food (Packaged)/Beverage, Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Group of Companies, Packaging Industry, Cement Industry, Steel

Education

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Environmental Science
    • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Professional certification such as CA, CMA, ACCA, CFA, CTP, FRM, ESG Investing, GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR), Green Banking, Climate Finance, or Sustainable Finance certification will be preferred.
