Waste Management Officer

Mir Ceramic Ltd, a leading tile manufacturer in Bangladesh, seeks a Waste Management Officer to champion sustainability. You will oversee waste collection, recycling, and safe disposal while ensuring facility compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) standards to drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Daily Operations & Supervision

• Supervise daily waste collection, recycling, and disposal operations.
• Record keeping of daily generated waste, recycle, reuse, and dispatch quantities.

Data Management & Reporting

• Track waste statistics, analyze trends, and compile reports to enter in software.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement strategies to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste.

Stakeholder Engagement & Training

• Communicate and educate internal departments regarding the waste collection process, proper waste segregation, and recycling practices.
• Communicate and monitor the performance of external waste contractors and service providers to ensure service level agreements are met.

Compliance, External Liaison & Management

• Liaison with relevant government offices like the Department of Environment (DoE), Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), etc.
• Implement other decisions that come from management regarding waste.

• At least 3 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Textile, Tiles/Ceramic, Glass & Ceramics Manufacturing

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science
• Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Industrial Eng & Production

• Age 30 to 40 years
• Only Male

• Excellent at report writing and record keeping

• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (specially Word and Excel)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are must
