Community based Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist
Job Description
Assessment and Evaluation
- Assess a person’s ability to perform daily activities and participate in various environments, according to the child and family’s identified goals.
- Use structured assessments to identify the need and purpose of assistive technology and ensure its optimal fit and use.
- Evaluate outcomes of interventions.
Treatment Planning and Implementation
- Identify and teach evidence-based strategies that caregivers can use to support their children’s development.
- Provide training and supervision to field staff who are implementing caregiver training programs.
- Utilise and develop curriculum to deliver disability awareness initiatives to promote the inclusion and participation of people with disabilities.
Monitoring and Documentation
- Maintain records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes across all work areas.
- Prepare and maintain budgets relevant to work areas.
- Prepare and submit reports to the Project Manager as required.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with relevant Health Professionals to promote access to rehabilitation and holistic care for people with disabilities.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and community members, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders during events like International Disability Day and other disability-focused programs.
Other Opportunities
This role will be supported by two Australian Physiotherapists who have extensive experience supporting people with disabilities. The successful candidate will be part of a team of Health Professionals including Physiotherapists, Midwives and Optometrists.
Experience
- 1 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Physiotherapy center

Education
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) in Physiotherapy
Additional Requirements
- Age At least 25 years
Membership of Professional association
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Commitment to community-based healthcare delivery
Comply with organization’s child & vulnerable persons safeguarding principles
Attend quarterly staff meetings and team meetings at Symbiosis Bangladesh as required
To embed disability inclusion within the organization’s structures and programs and to promote opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in our workforce and wider society
Travel to Symbiosis project areas throughout Dhaka, Gazipur, Mymensingh, Tangail, Jamalpur, Sirajganj Districts
Undertake additional tasks assigned by management to meet program goals.
Previous experience working with children with disability and their families. [Desirable]

Familiarity with person and family centred care.
Familiarity with appropriate paper based technology.
Familiarity with community development principles·
Capacity to utilise technology to facilitate remote communication with stakeholders
Excellent communication skill in English both speaking and writing.
Good interpersonal skills and communication with a wide variety of patients, medical staff, and caregivers.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
