Position: Deputy Manager – Maintenance & Utilities

Location: Gazipur, Bangladesh

Industry: Sweater Manufacturing

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee all factory maintenance activities to ensure smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and utilities.
• Monitor and maintain power distribution systems, electrical panels, generators, compressors, pumps, and other utility equipment.
• Ensure uninterrupted factory operations by managing power outages, load management, generator operation, and backup power systems.
• Supervise diesel, gas, and utility consumption and maintain proper records and controls.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and utility operators.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and utility-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate maintenance work for knitting, linking, finishing, washing, and supporting equipment.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure critical spare availability.
• Liaise with external vendors, contractors, and service providers when required.
• Ensure compliance with factory safety standards and proper maintenance procedures.
• Prepare maintenance reports, utility consumption reports, and improvement plans for management.

• At least 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Sweater Industry, Industrial Machineries (Generator, Diesel Engine etc.)

• Bachelor/Honors
• Diploma

• Diploma/B.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

• Age At least 21 years

• 8–12 years of experience in factory maintenance and utilities.
• Experience in sweater, knitwear, or garment manufacturing will be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of generators, electrical systems, compressors, pumps, boilers, and utility management.
• Experience handling factory power management and diesel consumption control.
• Ability to lead maintenance teams and work under pressure.
• Practical, hands-on troubleshooting skills are essential.
