Job Description

Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF) in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA has a long and illustrious history of conducting research in Bangladesh. PRF’s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professional. PRF is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Programmer.
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the study team to gain a thorough understanding of the field context and develop user-friendly data management systems for different levels of staff

  • Collaborate with the investigators and project team to understand data needs and ensure that the expected data is captured, collated, analyzed, and presented in dashboards on a timely basis

  • Work with the investigators and project team to develop the system in a way that facilitates the collection and compilation of routine data to track progress against all reportable indicators.

  • Diligently strive to achieve the five data quality standards: validity, integrity, precision, reliability, and timeliness

  • Design, develop and test critical Android-based applications.

  • Develop responsive and reusable UI components and libraries for the Android platform.

  • Optimize mobile applications for better performance and user experience.

  • Collaborate with data managers and field supervisors to resolve data queries and discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Field visit to support research team

  • Provide IT support and training

Experience

  • At least 2 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

Education

    • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science
    • Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science / software engineering, or in a related field.

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 22 years

Competency requirement:

  • Experience building complex Android Apps that have been successfully delivered to customers in an enterprise environment.

  • Experience with third-party Android libraries and APIs for both functionality and UX customization.

  • Good understanding of SQL SERVER 2008/2012 or higher.

  • Capability of writing complex SQL queries and procedures/functions.

  • Experience in data cleaning and data analysis using Stata/R will get preferences.

Additional requirements:

  • Maintain flexible working hours to meet project needs and align with different time zones

  • Experience working both independently and within cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent time management and ability to deliver on deadlines

  • Motivation to take challenges.

  • Flexible to join online meetings after office hours and at weekends

Compensation & Other Benefits

    • Salary scale: GS-6

    • Benefit: 12% retirement fund contribution by PRF will be given as per organizational policy.
