Job Description

Job Context: As the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, you will act as the second-in-command of the organization and play a critical role in driving overall business performance. You will support the Chief Executive Officer in leading the company through strategic, financial, and operational challenges while ensuring effective execution of Board-approved strategies.

You will be responsible for translating strategic direction into actionable plans, ensuring organizational alignment, and delivering sustainable performance across all functions. You will engage closely with key stakeholders including government authorities, regulators, investors, employees, and the wider community to safeguard and enhance the company’s reputation and long-term value.

Job Responsibilities:

1.   Strategic

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with government agencies, regulators, and key external stakeholders.

  • Support the CEO in defining and executing the company’s vision, mission, and long-term strategic objectives.

  • Ensure the organization is consistently represented in a strong and positive manner to all stakeholders.

  • Lead the preparation of medium and long-term strategic plans and secure Board approval in coordination with the CEO.

  • Drive execution of approved strategies across all business functions.

2.     Financial

  • Oversee development, review, and control of project and O&M budgets.

  • Ensure efficient and optimal utilization of financial and operational resources.

  • Take responsibility for overall profitability and financial performance (P&L accountability).

  • Monitor financial risks and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are in place.

3.     Operational

  • Ensure achievement of KPIs and operational performance targets across the organization.

  • Oversee technical, commercial, financial, and regulatory aspects of plant operations and maintenance.

  • Lead coordination with government authorities for approvals, permits, and renewals.

  • Participate in selection, structuring, and deployment of key project personnel, including definition of roles and responsibilities.

  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal governance requirements.

  • Ensure implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, policies, and reporting systems.

  • Ensure execution of Annual Operating Plan (AOP), as well as medium- and long-term strategic plans.

4.     People Management

  • Foster and sustain a high-performance culture aligned with organizational values and ethics.

  • Ensure continuous capability development and skill enhancement of employees.

  • Address employee relations and grievances in a fair and effective manner.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure accountability at all levels.

  • Build succession planning and leadership pipeline within the organization.

Experience

  • At least 30 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Power

Education

    • Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Mechanical Engineering

Additional Requirements

  • Age At most 56 years
  • 30+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5+ years in General Manager, Executive Officer, or equivalent senior leadership role in a similar industry.

  • Extensive experience in Planning, Construction, Commissioning, and Operation & Maintenance of Combined Cycle Power Plants (experience with GE F-class gas turbines preferred).

  • Proven track record in end-to-end project development and execution (at least one full-cycle project from conception to completion).
